Another Author-ly event is in the books!
Lores Untold is a local, in-home bookstore in North Vernon, Indiana. I learned about the shop through a work colleague and immediately visited to see what this store was all about. On my first visit, the owner asked to buy my books to feature in her store and invited me to their 1-Year Celebration event on September 28, 2025.
Whoa - what a business lady!
I am so glad I decided to make this my final event of 2025 and I am truly hoping for a repeat in 2026!
My personal recap of the event:
Overall, this event was a huge success! ... BUT it didn't start out that way.
The morning of the event, I was gathering all the items I would need to bring. We needed to provide our own set-up, including a tent (unless sitting in the hot sun for hours on a September afternoon is your cup of tea - well, it's not mine.
Luckily, my husband's cousin had a tent I could borrow, so I loaded her up and took off.
I get to North Vernon - approx. 20-25 minute drive from my home - and as I'm unloading my vehicle and claiming a spot on the lawn, I realize ... I forgot my table.
Gaaaah!!!
Of all the things I could forget, the TABLE is NOT something I can do without. The event was set to start in 20 minutes, so there was no way I could go home and back to retrieve the table. I call my husband who was working and beg him to go home and bring the table to me. Turns out, he's on a job an hour away.
Cue the sweat and dread.
I run up to the store owner, explain the situation, and this women - this kind, ever-prepared lady - smiles. She had a stash of tables, tents, and chairs as back-up, knowing at least one vendor would flub day-of.
Blessed be! She was my hero.
Alright, that's a wrap for my vending / author events for this year!
As of right now, I don't have anything planned for 2026, but I'll be sure to fill you all in as soon as something comes up.
Until next time!
